I was previously using the RSS mod for phpBB2 (RSS_Content_Syndicator_202) where I had to replace a file in the phpbb directory and then it worked.
When I upgraded to phpBB3, that same mod doesn't work (obviously). all the file names are different anyways.
After searching for about a day I finally found it, and boy does it work a LOT easier, no file replacement or anything, just tell it where your forum is basically (edit the lines in one file only).
some guy out there wrote the code in about an hour. MUCH props to him. To show my appreciation, i'm going to paste his text below with a link to his download.
There are more options in his script u can change, but the defaults were good for me. I only needed to change the URLs/file_locations to match my system.

I can't believe this guy got turned down. It's the only working version of rss for phpbb3 available online to download that i've found as of yet... the link to download is also in his quote..........

Bizzar phpbb3 RSS Addon
I originally applied to phpbb to get involved in the version 3 mod process but was turned down. No problem. I was hoping that there would be a more professional RSS feature included for phpbb, and as it turns out, this mod was dropped from the final script. I was really upset as I use RSS for a lot of my scripts. So I made my own addon for phpbb. Follow the instructions in the README that is included in the zip file.
